  • 1 pound fresh salmon (cut into 4 pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chicken broth (or water)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • Olive oil and butter for cooking
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring salmon to room temperature for 15-20 minutes; pat dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, lemon juice, ginger, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth (or water), and cornstarch; set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the salmon skin-side down for about 5 minutes until golden. Flip and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
