Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add sliced onions and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly until they begin to brown.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and cook for an additional 10 minutes, stirring frequently and adding a pinch of salt.
  3. Lower the heat and continue cooking for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. If necessary, add a splash of water if the onions start to stick.
  4. Once tender and golden brown (approximately 30 minutes total), remove from heat and deglaze with balsamic vinegar, stirring well.
