  • 1 lb smoked sausage, thinly sliced
  • 2 lbs potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the smoked sausage until browned. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine potatoes, cooked sausage, sautéed onion and garlic, cheddar cheese, ranch dressing mix, milk, melted butter, salt, and pepper.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
