Indulge in the flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak with this quick and easy Chicken Cheesesteak Skillet! Perfect for busy weeknights, this one-pan dish combines juicy sliced chicken, sautéed bell peppers, and onions, all topped with gooey provolone cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1½ teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers; season with salt and pepper. Sauté until tender (6-8 minutes). Remove from skillet.
  2. In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil. Add thinly sliced chicken along with Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes; then sauté until fully cooked (5-7 minutes).
  3. Return the cooked vegetables to the skillet and stir to combine.
  4. Sprinkle shredded provolone cheese on top and cover until melted (about 2 minutes).
  5. Serve hot, either plain or with your choice of sides.
