  • 3 cups seafood stock or fish broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup dry white cooking wine or non-alcoholic seafood stock
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 1 cup medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Paprika for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter with olive oil. Sauté onion, garlic, celery, and carrot until softened (5–7 minutes).
  2. Stir in flour to create a roux; cook for about 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in seafood stock until smooth and bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Lower heat; add heavy cream and white wine. Season with paprika and Old Bay; simmer on low for 10 minutes.
  4. Fold in crab meat and shrimp; cook until shrimp are pink (5–7 minutes).
  5. Serve warm in bowls garnished with parsley.
