  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (for marinade)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (for sauce)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • ½ cup water or beef broth
  • Optional: ginger, garlic, and green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef in soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, and sesame oil for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and water/beef broth in a separate bowl.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or wok over high heat; stir-fry the marinated beef until browned on both sides. Remove from pan.
  4. Stir-fry sliced bell peppers and onions until tender-crisp; add garlic and ginger for the last 30 seconds.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and pour in the prepared sauce; cook until thickened.
  6. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles, garnished with chopped green onions.
