  • 1/2 pound chicken breast (cut into small pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 10 tablespoons cornstarch (or potato starch)
  • 2 eggs
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (finely chopped)

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken pieces with ginger, salt, pepper, and rice vinegar for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan to about 350°F (175°C).
  3. Dip marinated chicken into beaten eggs and coat with cornstarch.
  4. Fry chicken in batches until golden brown (about 8–10 minutes) and drain on paper towels.
  5. In a separate pan, mix Gochujang, honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, and sesame oil over low heat until thickened.
  6. Toss fried chicken in the sauce and serve hot with garnishes.
