  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 & 2/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup patriotic sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened) for frosting
  • 2 & 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • pinch of sea salt for frosting
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting
  • 1 & 1/2 tablespoons whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and sea salt; set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer, cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in sprinkles.
  5. Press dough evenly into prepared dish and bake for 25-28 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. For frosting, whip softened butter then gradually add powdered sugar, mixing in salt, vanilla, and milk until light and fluffy.
  7. Frost cooled cookie bars, sprinkle more patriotic sprinkles on top, cut into pieces, and enjoy!
