  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 3 ounces cherry jello
  • 3 ounces blue jello
  • 8 ounces whipped topping (Cool Whip)
  • 1 cup boiling water (divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions. Prepare the cake mix until smooth and bake as directed.
  2. In two bowls, dissolve 1.5 ounces of cherry jello in ½ cup boiling water and do the same with the blue jello.
  3. After baking, cool the cake slightly then poke holes all over using a wooden spoon handle. Pour cherry jello into half of the holes and blue jello into the other half.
  4. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to set.
  5. Once chilled, spread whipped topping over the cake and sprinkle red, white, and blue decorations on top.
