  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup sourdough discard
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Add garlic salt, olive oil, and sourdough discard to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in flour until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm spot for about 20 minutes.
  4. Roll the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface and transfer it to a greased baking sheet.
  5. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with herbs and cheeses.
  6. Let it rise again for 15 minutes while preheating the oven to 400°F.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Cut into strips and serve warm.
