  • 4 cups (500g) bread flour or all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (7g) active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons (10g) salt
  • 1 3/4 cups (415ml) warm water
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary leaves
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast; let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Add flour and salt; mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 5–10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (1–1.5 hours).
  5. Punch down the dough gently, then transfer to an oiled baking sheet; stretch to fit.
  6. Cover again and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  8. Make dimples in the dough, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle rosemary and coarse salt.
  9. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown; cool slightly before slicing.
